The UNESCO World Heritage Site Tomioka Silk Mill is only part of what makes Tomioka special. Starting from Joshu-Tomioka Station, stroll through the town’s charming retro streets with a local guide and discover Kengo Kuma-designed architecture, historic buildings, and fascinating stories hidden in the townscape.
The tour concludes with a visit to Tomioka Silk Mill, where your guide will take you to places and share little-known stories that are not usually covered on standard tours. Along the way, enjoy freshly fried Hormone-age, a beloved local specialty of Tomioka.
